“We have a loyal, regular group of sellers at Global Dressage Auction, and we are proud of that. We continue to attract new sellers, so our customers are always offered different, exclusive dressage genes. The sellers increasingly posed the question if it was possible to offer broodmares via our auction platform as well. Well, if it works for embryos and foals, it should also work for broodmares.”
Extensive information
Three pregnant broodmares adorn the collection. Just as the embryos and foals, they each sport interesting dressage genes. “Moreover, the mares have had a veterinary examination and we have included as much additional information about them as possible. Think of the WFFS status for example, or whether a mare has been ridden.”
Dutch and German blood
The striking grey New Daula is a daughter of Painted Black out of the Daula line. She is in foal to Toto Jr. Her half-brother Pascha (s.Toto Jr) was recently appointed to the main stallion show in Vechta. Besides the Dutch blood, the collection also boasts a German staatsprämie mare. This Florelia is a granddaughter of the full sister to the Olympic Don Shufro and expects a foal this year by the spectacular young stallion Damaschino. The third broodmare descends from the dam line of Sintano van Hof Olympia that won team silver for Great Britain at the EC of Riesenbeck. This daughter of Foundation is in foal to Indian Rock.
Preferable a broodmare
“The embryos we offer via our auction platform are always met with an eager anticipation by keen buyer. Experience has taught me that there are also many dressage enthusiasts who prefer to invest in a broodmare. You often must be really lucky to get hold of a mare that originates from the renowned dressage lineages. Fortunately, we have built such a network. This way, any dressage breeder who wants to improve and/or expand their breeding program, can come to us”, Koos Poppelaar concludes.
Bidding starts Thursday
The collection is composed of eight embryos, including five frozen embryos with a guarantee, three transferred embryos and three pregnant broodmares. The collection can be browsed at www.globaldressage.auction. Bidding starts on Thursday February 16 and the auction closes on Sunday February 19.
